Description: His name is “Jano.” He was born in Trinidad and Tobago eleven years ago. His parents brought him to Isla Colon, Bocas del Toro, Panama when he was 5 months old, looking for a better life. He use to go to the football camp to play every day with his friends from the local school. “I speak English much better than all my friends,” he said. “My father speaks to me in English every day at home and I try to teach my friends when I can, but they do not listen to me. They only want to play football,” he laughs.

Description: “People call me Jack Sparrow!” This is Cable Chicho and he told me that he is the only person who can read hands on the island. Before he finished speaking, he took my hand and said, “You are a really confident and creative man. You’ve had long relationships but you are single now. You will fall in love again in April and you will be really happy. You will have 3 kids, one male and female twins with her. You will have a really long life.” He was the first person I met in Bocas del Toro, just a couple of blocks from my hostel.

Description: His name is “Coqui.” He was born and raised in Bocas del Toro, Panama. He arrived at the beach in a black, old-school, Harley Davidson-styled bicycle. I asked him for a picture and he said, “No problem.” He told me, “Everybody knows me and everyday I come to the beach to workout. I love this bike and this island.”

Description:  I was standing for 45 minutes with my tripod in front of the Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at night in the middle of two highways, trying to get the best light with the cars passing through. It was dangerous but worth it.
